PDB to LRF?

Is there an easy way to convert non-DRM pdb files to lrf for reading on the Sony PRS-505?
So far, I've tried the Amber Lit Converter to change from PDB to HTML or LIT and then dropped the HTML or LIT file into calibre to convert to LRF....a tad cumbersome. Is there a one-step process for this?

'mobi2lrf' in Calibre

If 'pdb' means mobipocket format, 'mobi2lrf' in Calibre can do to conversion in one step. I tried it with DRM-free mobi books uploaded here and the conversion works fine.

How about changing the file extension from 'pdb' to 'prc' and trying it again?

If the pdb to prc approach works, this is probably a PalmDoc file.

If not, then the first step is to find out what ebook format is in the .pdb file. See PDB in the Wiki, and use a text editor to find the Palm Database File Code.

I am using ABC Amber Palm Converter to convert the files from pdb to lit. It worked to convert the files, but now when I drop the ebooks into Calibre to convert from lit to lrf, the author and title are missing - all ebooks display as "Untitled" with "ABC Amber Palm Converter" as the author.

Any ideas on how I can get the title and author to display without manually changing the metadata on each ebook?

I can confirm that .pdb is Palm, but not the same as .prc. Many eBooks and other 'stuff' is distributed as .pdb.

It is my understanding that cailbre cannot handle .pdb but they are looking for someone to write a converter.
