Spelling and Grammar check
Hi all.
I found this neat little website that does spelling and grammar checks of files. As a test, I uploaded an epub and it worked great. I didn't have any mobi files to check. https://www.online-spellcheck.com/spell-check-file It is new to me and I realize that I'm usually behind the curve, so, if this is old news please remove it. |

Generally for my uses, most spelling and grammar checks are done in a word processor before converting to ebook format.
I did try three ebooks on this site. Two of them timed out after 2 minutes and so no results. The other managed to get checked but the only errors were complaints about the names of characters and the use of British spellings (in a book where the language is clearly marked as en-gb). |

I kinda like it.
My niece turned me on to fan fiction (I love Dungeon Crawler Carl & Princess Donut), and many of those books have bad grammar that drives me a bit batty, and I think this will help. I mean rein/reign, affect/effect, things like that. BTW, you can choose English (GB) just under where you load the file. |

Privacy issues. Energy. Needs Internet.
That site is an awful idea. Libre Office is free and has grammar and spelling checker and works off line. Calibre is also free and can check actual ebooks, but you are better working with wordprocessor source. I have used Calibre for ebooks I downloaded (bought and PD) that turned out to be unproofed OCR source. I'd only upload ebook files for publishing. |

Calibre has always served me well. I much prefer to finish the book offline before uploading the EPUB to Amazon. It just seems to work best for me.
