I don't know if this is the right place to place a question. My question is does there exist a list of valid setting statements for the Kobo eReader.conf file?

I'm asking this here because searching for "zoom" brought up this thread and several posts that said kepubs were better for zooming in on pictures. How? I've just finished a book with lots of charts and graphs and I could not find any way top zoom in on them. Nor did I find anything in the onboard user guide to help. How do zoom in on images or other graphic content in a kepub?

I used a conversion to do this, but, when I have used the extended driver in the past, it worked the same. It is possible it is the code for the image. This is a simple img tag inside a p tag. I have used SVG wrapped images in the past, and I'm sure they worked as well. |

After reading your latest reply, I tried again. I must have been tapping in the page turning area of the screen, because when I tried in a different part of the images, it worked. Thank you!

Yesterday, I added 14 books by Sebastian Fitzek, and they ended up in three different folders: Fitzek, Sebastian Fitzek & Sebastian Fitzek & Michael Tsokos , which is very annoying. Any suggestions? |

The most likely answer to this is that you are using calibre to send the books to the device. And if that is the case, it is working as designed and doing exactly what you have told it to do. The directory structure and file names used by calibre when sending books to the device is specified by you. There are defaults, and I guess you have not changed them. What you need to do is look at the save template in whichever of the KoboTouch or KoboTouchExtended driver you are using. There is plenty of discussion in the calibre forum of what can be used for the templates. There is also some here, but, it may not be as detailed. Beyond that, with the information available, we can't really help. You don't really state what the problem is. I think it comes down to, "I don't like the file and directory names used". If that is the case, then thing we need to know is what you want them to be. And some proper examples of what the file names are. And as @DNSB suggested above, and was suggested before, you almost definitely need to cleanup the metadata in your books. |

I'm guessing if you're into Kobos enough to hang around this forum you already know this but I didn't:
On the Forma if you press and hold the bottom right corner of a page it starts to rapidly flick forward through the book, way faster than normal page turning, I didn't know eink could even change this fast. It's really handy for me because I read my book on my phone all day at work and it was a pain trying to find my new place again with the slider when I get home. |

if I don't want anything Kobo, and want to avoid the Kobo experience altogether, do I need to log into my Kobo account? I would just prefer to stay in airplane mode and fly solo, also side loading patches, books, etc.
thanks all. Last edited by pghaworth; 12-03-2019 at 05:50 PM. |
