you can crack open the unit which I would not do, unless to replace the battery; or call Sony and complain.

BTW: My wife just got her replacement Sony 500 reader from Sonystyle. The bad one was received by Sony on on 09-16-2007.
Next time I am driving to a Sonystyle store and dealing with it in person. I understand there was a backlog of orders, glad this is over. Fabian. |

Our two 505's both have almost zero ghosting. I wonder why it varies at all between units?
