The best format to convert from Word to epub

I have Word 2010. I want to convert a document to epub. Which is the best format for it? What should I save it as? The document has images as well as some non-standard fonts.

I would think that first insuring that your doc is in UTF-8 then saving as "filtered" HTML,
gives you the most options for working with the results. The free (and supported within
these forums) Calibre and Sigil programs provide for the conversion to epub and editing
the headers, respectively.
