I tried shorting the pads (removable jumper) as per linked post. It does something actually and windows detects USB connection as HID device. I'm trying to download the NXP's MFGtool2, but all I found so far was linux-based...any idea where to get a proper copy of it for Windows? What is the binary to upload with it - a bootloader rather than a firmware I bet?

You can probably find them here:https://www.nxp.com/products/process...sign_Tools_Tab
Of course you have to send a uboot, I just don't know where you're going to get one. The one pulled from the Kindle software probably won't work. You are left with compiling your own version. I don't really know what you want to achieve. The problem lies in hardware not software. |

Ok. Thanks. I simply assumed the RAM physically should be okay, as the CPU responses to Serial input and problem is somewhere deeper down in the uboot/bootloader. I certainly do not have skills to extract / compile my own package here though.
Either way - big thanks for all your feedback and help! |

As I wrote earlier, the processor has its own small cache. This is where uboot is loaded.Uboot initializes physical RAM.
