Calibre installs shortcut, not program. Won't open. - Page 2

The same thing. Nothing happens. I even tried downloading it from a different browser.

So the installer places the files in the correct place. What happens if you restart in safe mode? That should prevent whatever (anti-virus/malware, security software, etc.) that is preventing calibre from running being loaded.

Press the Window + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run box.
Type msconfig into the search field and press Enter.
In the System Configuration window that appears, click on the Boot tab.
Check the Safe boot option and then click on OK. Click on restart and your computer will now restart in Safe Mode.

The YouTube video has information around the 10 second mark on using msconfig to start in safe mode.
