I've converted countless lrf files to epub with calibre without any issues. What error messages are you getting?

Are you converting .lrf or .lrx?

If it's .lrx, you're out of luck. AFAIK, no one ever developed a way to strip the DRM from an .lrx file.

The good news is that Sony converted all their books to epub - so if you bought from the Sony store (and you must have if you have .lrx books), then you can just go to the Sony Library and download all your books in the epub format.

There's also LRFTools which will convert LRF to ePub (and is free).

But, yeah, it would be worth figuring out why calibre couldn't do it, since whatever is preventing calibre from doing it might also prevent any other software from doing it.
