You need like one or two days with the device, at least, to write something like that.
Not sure about Engadget, but from how long the Verge has it for we can extrapolate that it will be round the same.

Battery life on the Kindle Paperwhite more than lived up to Amazon's promises. In the week that I've been testing the device,

Looks like the screen lives up to its billing, and battery life seems somehow greatly improved (comparing to my Kindle Touch 3G+wifi). Even with the light on. The screen looked pretty good even with the light turned all the way down.

I believe they mention in the video they've had it a week and a half or so.

Kind of annoying how many times the video shows him adjusting the screen brightness.

Would have liked to see how well Book Descriptions & web pages scroll. It's kind of awful on KT, particularly the Book Descriptions in Kindle Store.

So far, so good!

Unfortunately we never seem to get well done reviews by people who actually use eReaders on a daily basis. Instead the early reviews are typically done by people marginally aware of the existence of eReaders, who don't know what to look for or what we power users are truly interested in finding out. Basically we get superficial reviews early on followed by better reviews from actual owners and users a few days later.
