As expected, all the new models carry speakers and TTS. I've heard the German voice used for it and I like it very much, but I haven't found any other one. However, the TTS is supposed to support 20 languages, so I'd say English should be included The format support is the same than the former models (I still miss CBZ and/or CBR ) and the report mentions an improvement in the Reflow function for PDF's which should allow the reader to retrieve images from the document.

If the US prices are set 1:1 as they have been before, you'll be getting a big reader for less than a Kindle..
Oh I like the tablet! I already have an e-reader, and I'm tempted to get a tablet some time in the future. My budget is limited, but I think I can live with spending €160. I just dread taxes - importing my reader cost me a fortune, so any spending I want to do will have to wait a while.

By the way, can't .cbz and .cbr be renamed to .zip and .rar respectively and viewed that way?

What about buying (preorder) from Italy now (but my question is for all other European country without a local reseller)?

...I stop myself preordering my 903 when I read mtravellerh message about italian firmware.
What do you mean about italian firmware? There will be a "localized" firmware for each country?

Are there any pitfalls buying from other European country NOW?
(i.e. localized silk screens / menu language only in german...)

If the hardware is the same, can I preorder it now and then localize it in the future simply upgrading the firmware?

Thank you,
Roberto

Actually, if you don't want to wait, you can do the localization yourself if you wish. That was the case of the Spanish version: I translated the firmware in 14.2, and the translation used in 15.2 was finally the one made by yours truly. When the ultimate 15.3 is out, I'll do it again.

I'm not sure we can start pre-orders in the USA within the period, longer than 2 weeks, due to credit cards restrictions. Plus, we don't know the final pricing for the new line yet...

Sorry if this is not the place for to ask theses questions.

I will buy three ebooks just before Christmas and my first choice was the Kindle (two 6" and one 9.7"). I'm seeing now this alternative and I want to know, if it's posible, somethings for helping me to decide:

1) Kindle has a little keyboard to take notes on books. The Pocketbook's devices haven't keyboard, but, is it posible to take notes (and to save then) with the device itself (i.e., do the e-book has a virtual keyboard or -I don't know what- for to do it?).

2) If I remark or surf into the text, how can I see the meaning of words into the dictionary?

3) If I preorder now, will I have any kind of disccount?

4) Have the devices a sensor for to turn the text when I turn it?

5) The TTS function is it avaible in spanish language?

6) How can I use the 3G?

7) And, finally, do they have some cover for to protect the device?

Thanks!

P.S. Sorry, English is not my native language.

mtravellerh, thank you a lot for the information you provide to us.

I would like to know when we will get to know some more information about the presale discount and about the student rebates.

Thank you very much.

cannot be true. Wacom screens can only be operated with a stylus.

Wacom do make multi-touch screens (that can be used with a passive stylus or a finger), they are in their Bamboo range of tablets. Whether they have one that you can put in front, or behind, an e-ink screen is another question.

Can we get a confirmation here from the distributor whether the 903 is going to have both active and passive digitisers?
