Is the new ebook viewer extensible?
I'm here to ask about the possibility making an extension that changes how the viewer/reader work.
I'm mainly looking to make a plugin to (access or) update 'calibre_current_page_bookmark' inside epubs every x minutes when the book is open to allow for syncing of the epub file (and sync reading positions) I have had a look at the source and some commits that relate to the new viewer but I thought to ask before going forward |

Okay thank you very much! I saw this commit and thought to ask.
Is there any future plans to reimplement extensibility? I'm guessing it's not a very popular area so I understand if it will be dropped completely. |

The previous viewer had a grand total of one plugin made for it I think, so no, my motivation for impementing this is not very high.
