Looks like the UK SONY reader may have different device ids. Can one of you check the device id. Make sure the reader is the only device connected and then run the following code:

calibre-debug -c "from calibre.devices.scanner import osx_scanner; print osx_scanner()"

I have the same problem with a UK 505. When I run the command it returns:

The deviceid is the same. Now post the output of the follwoing two commands (with the device connected)

mount

The next command will generate a lot of output so we'll redirect it to a file

ioreg > log.txt

One of you posting is enough. I now need you to add a storage card (and a memory stick if possible) and post log.txt again with the command

ioreg -w 0 -S -c IOMedia > log.txt

That should do the trick.
