Calibre is written in Python.

The bottom line is the message you are concerned with.
OUT of Memory.
Are you using a 64 bit machine? Did you also install 64bit Calibre ?

32 bit machine can only use about 3G of RAM

Actually, that's 2G of ram for a 32-bit process unless it's compiled with some option to allow 4G.
