I have no mods at all. Couldn't be bothered re-installing them since my device kept resetting haha

Nice, this file works just fine! Would you mind telling me exactly how I can do this conversion myself?

The closest I can think of is, connect the sage to your pc, copy a a whole bunch of data do it, flush cache on the pc, and try reading all the data back.. (ideally, the read should actually be veryfing it, such as comparing md5 or crc32sums) If you can do this 1 or 2 times without without error, then my guess is probably wrong. I'm sorry that I can't provide more user friend detailed instructions on how to do the above.
The problem doesn't seem to be storage or moving files though, because it only happens with specific files. I've moved several GB onto the device at once several times and never had any problems, as long as it doesn't contain the files I identified as causing issues.

Basically, I used KCC v7 to convert the CBZ to an epub without rescaling the images and then used Sigil to edit the epub to make it more generic. Since KCC generates a epub that included the width and height of the image, a simple regex allowed me to convert it to the SVG container per file which should work with both epub2 and epub3 ereaders unlike KCC's fixed layout epub3 output.

One item is that my daughter took one look at the file and mentioned that it is copyrighted so I've removed the link to it.

Thank you! This will have to be my solution for now.

So, I managed to find another CBZ that my sage refuses to acknowledge exists.
You can find a link to the file here: https://files.catbox.moe/efpnw8.cbz
I simply copy the file to the storage, let the file transfer, and eject the ereader. Then, my Sage "imports" the file, reaching 6%, but then flashing to the homescreen. The file is not findable on the device. I only know it's there because I see it in the file manager when I plug the Sage into my computer.

Let me know if I should make a new thread for this, since it is a separate issue, even if I already mentioned it.

That file is 7-zip, and not a cbz file. You will have to uncompress and create a new cbz. (Or report the error on whatever site you got this from.)

It is a .zip renamed to .cbz, which I've read is the same thing. On my computer, my document viewer recognizes it as a .cbz and displays it as such.

Not sure how / where you are getting these comics but trying to view this under Linux I get
Spoiler:
Code:
unzip -t /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz
Archive: /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz or
/mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz.zip, and cannot find /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz.ZIP, period.

Additionally
Spoiler:
Code:
file /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz
/mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/efpnw8.cbz: 7-zip archive data, version 0.3

cbz / epub are both zip files and should be openable by any zip tool.

cbr is a rar and should be openable by any rar tool.

I have folders of regular JPGs that I archive into zip files, then rename into cbz.

Running 7zip at the command line from a directory that contains the extracted files, I do get a working cbz. Note the addition of the
Code:
-tzip
to force creation of a zip format file
Code:
7zz a -tzip efnpw8.cbz
Additionally file now correctly shows this as a zip file
Code:
file efpnw8.cbz
efpnw8.cbz: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract, compression method=store

I had a very similar issue with my Kobo Aura H2O. It simply couldn't handle the number and size of files. I eventually gave up and went to Android ereaders, which let me use my existing Calibre library for metadata and the file system to interact with my ebooks instead of attempting to scan metadata and build some kind of internal library.

I came back to MR to see if Kobo had addressed this and I could take advantage of the Black Friday sales, but it looks like I will just upgrade to a newer Onyx device.
