Hi from newest nook owner
The Moderator's Suite Murder Mystery got me out of lurkdom and into the membership. Not that I needed to win a new ereader but one of the gift certificates would have been nice. I got a nook in Feb. and since that time I've been looking around here and on nookboards for info on freebies, discounts, etc. When I found this site the one thing that struck me was how many different ereaders there are! I thought the nook was novel. Now I want a Pocketbook!
The Overdrive library source was my reason for buying an ereader - "think of all the money I'll save!" Umm...I've probably spent more on books in the past couple of months than I have in most years. So much for the saving money part. The convenience is something I hadn't expected and it's turned out to be the best part of using an ereader. I like the nook overall but I'm disappointed in the way ebooks are organized. Or should I say in the way they are NOT organized? Sheesh, even just a folder for 'archived' books would be a HUGE improvement! BTW, my title was supposed to read 'newish nook owner'. BUt maybe I am the newest? Hello wandalynn & welcome to MR.
Glad you stopped lurking and stepped in. The buying-book-phase will eventually slow down. I have done the same when I first got my reader. Now I am more selective - still trying to catch up with the ones I bought. But I still saved money: the eBooks were all cheaper than any pBook I could have bought. Have you looked at Calibre for organising your eBooks? I use it , it's easy and with all the tags / collections you can create really great. |
