Good4Utah caught up with Butcher at Salt Lake Comic Con 2015.
Butcher says his experience at Salt Lake Comic Con might be the most fun he's had at any con.

Oh look, he's talking again. Could someone please remind him that, to continue to call himself a writer, he has to actually WRITE.

Sorry folks, getting a bit cheesed off waiting for Dresden files to complete - I'm 62 and at this rate I won't live to read the series ending. They started off with at least one a year, then slowed down, the last one was in 2014, there's one due this year, then............. 2022, 2024........?

You do understand that he doesn't actually owe you a book don't you? He could choose to not write another one ever.

Anita Blake is a necromancer, all nice and legal etc. Her job (to start with) is raising the dead to investigate murders, questions of inheritance etc. Vampires, Werewolves and much of the rest are common knowledge among the normal people. There are treaties and laws where for example Vampires may only feed upon willing volunteers and aren't supposed to kill them.

Of course like any laws, there are those who choose not to obey them. That's when Ms. Blake gets to go all stab, slash etc.

I stopped reading around book 10 or so because the author had progressively slipped into writing the books as pretty much porn with a dash of urban fantasy. The constant exposure to the supernatural keeps adding to Blakes' abilities, but (literally) screwing with the monsters has also given her the "ardour" - she's gotta have it periodically or things get bad. Laurell K. Hamilton describes Blakes' sexual exploits in great detail.

Thank you, that is what I gathered as well from the review I linked a few posts up.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind reading a little romance here and there, but not when half way through a series the genre changes.

Is it bad when none of them yell out to me "Read me! Read me!" ? At least not based on the article. Sounds like they have not read them, but just collected some urban fantasy books.
