I like playing chess on occasion, but I don't have a clue as to the answer. Is it a famous player? If so, is it a modern player or someone from back in the day? Or is this a recent record that was broken?

You're nearing from both sides! The duration was much too long this time, the number of games you will get with your next answer(s), I'm sure!

That's near enough to declare you the winner, Paul!
Actually, the world record is 46 games. To give you some idea of this amount and the duration: The performance lasted 21 hours, from 9.45 in the morning until 7.00 the next morning. After six hours only ten moves have been played on every board. In the end, the players on the other side of the board have been more exhausted than the simul giver (whose name is Marc Lang, by the way). They had to wait up to one hour before it was their turn again to move. I am very impressed by this performance in memorising! Paul, it's your turn again. |

OK... here's a little one...
Outside of the Amazon basin, were is the LAST REMAINING VIRGIN RAINFOREST? 1. Country 2. Name 3. Size 4. Name of the indigenous people who inhabit this area. And for extra credit, there is a mountainous region that forms its western border, famous for two completely different 'things' (one is a plant and the other a recreation.) Name the area and the two 'things.' Stitchawl |

Since Stitchcawl asked I immediately thought Japan, but no matter how I rack my brain I can't think of any rain forest, only Okinawa would have the climate and I have never heard of a rain forest there, so I'll have to go with Indonesia instead.
