It's disturbing but funny
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies I'm not sure why I'm posting this but I saw it on the Amazon site and just had to pass it along. |

I have seen that a couple of times and I have actually been tempted to purchase it just to see how it is...

I loved Pride and Prejudice, and my husband (an English professor) was very amused by the concept, so I bought Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
It's not bad. The title pretty much says it all. I had heard somewhere that the text of P&P is unaltered, and all the zombie stuff is just inserted, which I thought was an amusing conceit, but it turns out to not be true (or I misremembered what I heard). However the major plot threads and scenes from P&P seem to all be there. One of the things I found amusing was all the little euphemisms they had for zombies-- "the sorry stricken" pops to mind, but there were others---as though they could rarely bring themselves to say "zombies" out loud. |

Great Kindle screensaver image.
I bought the books a couple of weeks ago but haven't started reading it yet. Might be a summer beach read. |

His next book is Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. Really.

I'd like to say they pay homage to Gogol, but I'm not sure I can.
BTW, the advance for Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, could have financed the Civil War.... |

I first read P & P back in high school. I have p, e, audio and dvd (BBC) versions. I got Pride and Prejudice and Zomies late Sunday afternoon and finished it Monday evening. And Monday I went to my embroidery group - read it on the train there. I loved it - it was fun. Mind you I've read a version in which Darcy is a weredragon and another in which he gets swapped with Captain Kirk. (bennetgirls.com)
In my opinion this world needs all the humour it can get. |

I guess its the craze in stories today that people have been so interested in vampire stories thats why there have been so many stories about it that came up. This is one of the popular ones with good reviews but I have not read it as well.

I downloaded this from Sony but haven't read it yet. The first few pages were funny though.

I'm a Left 4 Dead player (fun game) and I downloaded the sample, which I'll read soon. I'm not quite sure whether to be worried or not. Then there's Shatnerquake... whose sample I also have, but also have not yet read. I'm working on a vampire-assassin-for-the-CIA thriller I got for a dollar. Can't beat a dollar for a book I'm turning out to like.
