Help with software downgrade PW4 (5.15.1.1)
I have a Kindle PW4 that recently auto-updated to software 5.15.1.1. If it is possible to jailbreak, install a prior version of software, and prevent auto-updates even while wifi connected, could someone point me to the correct procedures?
I just want to get back to a software version that supports the 'original' Periodical document format viewing and toolbar functionality. Thanks in advance. |

It's only possible if you have previously jailbroken your device. There's a thread in this sub forum describing the process.
If you haven't previously jailbroken your device, then you'll need to wait until a new exploit is discovered/developed into a usable solution. Your best bet is to try and keep the device on this version by keeping it in airplane mode and transfer books via USB+PC. No internet means no pushed updates. |

No SW beak, but you can try the serial port (hardware, open case required)
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=313438 It will be even more tricky because the way amazon stores the keys changed. |
