Sorry, but the internal structure of the tag browser makes this extremely difficult, requiring a reimplementation of tag browser searching. There is no way to remember whether ALT (or anything else was pressed when a node is selected.

As I am interested in this as well, I had a look into the coding yesterday.

If you are interested in my findings:
The «opposite» works well in book‐details with ctrl‐shift.
But tag‐browser is different designed. The setting (match‐all/any) is used to define and/or. It is possible to change the coding to consider ctrl‐with‐shift.
But ... it changes all AND to OR (or opposite) in the search instead the last one only. To change that behaviour, a redesign of the tag browser search is needed. For sure due to the effort, risk and less interest no‐one will touch it.
