Hi

I boot my device then things goes wrong with battery then I reset the device to the factory sitting, now :

- I can not display the StatusBar on Neo Reader even if I chose to display it from the sitting
- I can see FBReader on the apps list but I can not open any book with it

caveat: I only have an M96+ & T68+

IIRC the FB Reader that comes with Onyx devices is never actually displayed in the app list, but is invoked or used by some other app. From fiddling with my T68+ I would say try this: Once an item is added to your library you can either long-press on it in Library or ContentBrowser. You'll see an 'Open With' option, which lists the various apps the system suggests.

If the original FB Reader is GPL'd (I believe it is) then Onyx may have made modifications to the source code and installed a custom version tailored to their devices.

Status bar I can't help you with, unfortunately, but you could always try to 'trick' it to re-appear if the functionality isn't lost. The only two options I can think of off the top of my head involve apps that allow full-screen. One is by Piotr4 who is on these boards and was made with Onyx devices in mind. It also doesn't mention needing root. The other is Fullscreen by tsorn.

As a last resort you could try getting the firmware to re-flash it. I know I've had occasions where a factory reset screwed up a tablet or phone. You can get it from http://ereader-store.de/en/content/8-downloads.

Hi,

since you're already done with a factory reset and it didn't help, why don't do a re-install of the image?

This should fix everything.

N96ML's update.zip is listed toward the bottom. Instructions are there too.
