Smile MyEZread.com eBook Store LAUNCHING!!

Dear All:

The new and long-promised eBook Store is launching FRIDAY, April 2, at 12:01 a.m. PDT. The website is at: www.MyEZread.com

What separates this eBook Store from all others? To start:

1. EVERY title will be in EPUB or PDF or both! Your life becomes a lot simpler!!

2. Every effort has been made to sell at the lowest price. SOME prices are set by the Publishers and we cannot discount. All others will be at bargain prices!

3. There is a good and sophisticated search engine on it. You can search by:
Title, or FULL name of Author, or BOTH.

4. There are ten main categories on the left bank of the Home Page PLUS more than 150 detailed search functions under the button called: "categories". From Crochet to How to survive a fire, from Erotic to Spiritual, from Thrillers to The UPS Hunk with the Slow Hand... you should find it here!

5. The site has more than 200,000 PAY titles plus the entire Google Free eBook Library.

6. One button on the top called "Bestsellers" takes you to the latest and greatest according to the New York Times.

7. This site will grow and have a "global" flavor in the future. We instend to deal with romance and science fiction independant publishers also and offer their works on our site. Eventually we hope to have eBooks in Spanish, Chinese, and Russian. We will be bringing you FREE downlaods from time-to-time of new releases by great Independant Authors!!

8. There is a link to download Adobe Digital Editions!

9. The site is not just for Astak devices. ANYdevice that has Adobe Digital Editions will be able to purchase from this site! If anyone is not sure, we list the devices that are applicable on the website.

10. Yes, the authors you all have posted about I have checked and almost every one is on here!

This is a SOFT RUN for MobileRead Forum members only. Everything is fully functional and your sales will go through. We will be dressing up the website over the next few weeks, particularly the Home Page.

Presently the site takes: Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. We hope to add American Express soon. We hope to add PayPal soon also!

Membership is FREE! Sign in and help yourself!

Within two weeks we should have up the following:

The ability to get reviews of books, make comments, ask for more authors and get feedback by FaceBook and Twitter and that will be fully monitored!! We also are in the process of adding a fully functional forum ON THE SITE where you can discuss eBooks, reviews, wants, etc.

A CLUB is also coming soon. We are detailing this now. It will allow those who purchase a certain amount of eBooks to get an additional discount.

At present, Google will only allow their free eBooks on our site to be purchased from the USA. We are trying to expand this globally also.

THIS should be YOUR site. We aim to make this a very browseable and fun site. Very soon we will have the ability for interaction on our site between you and our eBook Interns.

PLEASE enjoy!! My job will be about devices on this forum. I am going to stay out of discussion about the eBook Store and let our wonderful eBook Interns take great care of you! WHY? Because they will be able to help you and to improve the site for you!

Again: go to: www.MyEZread.com and really enjoy great reading!!

Looks good!

First observation/suggestion. Your sign in page only asks for the password once. I think this may lead to many password problems due to typos.

So nice to see a bookstore that has different formats for all devices, FINALLY.

I also saw you guys had one of my favorite authors, Daniel Handler, and THE best book on the face of this humble Earth, "Adverbs"!

Great selection and I just purchased a book (I don't know if that was allowed yet, but it worked great so I'm not worried), 'Water" by Robin McKinley. Can't wait to get to it. Also downloaded a free eBook from the Google library.

Didn't see any problems!

Looks very nice, but I have to laugh at Terry Pratchett under Romance/Erotic Fantasy.

Just went through a test purchase myself. Some notes - all meant to be helpful - not negative :-

- You do not indicate the size of the books. We need to know page count, word count, or even average read time.
- You require US-centric information for the billing info - what about international customers?
- billing info is not retained - you have to re-enter it each time. Should be part of the user's profile perhaps?
- the merchant name shown when paying for the book via Mastercard is mobiebooks - strange name since you only support Adobe
- the eBook download page leaves you on a page with no links back to the bookstore

All that said, I have my first DRM'd book from your store, open in ADE, - a success.

Just realised - the book has an incorrect author in it's metadata. It was a Stephen Baxter book, and it claims, in ADE, to be authored by Alissa Stutzman.

Also, it has no table of contents!

Pretty poor for a non-free eBook purchase.

Dear Silverraven:

Agreed! The problem is that with 200,000 pay titles to check, our Taiwanese web master does NOT know his books. He is definitely going to assign the wrong book to the wrong category many times.

That is why we have a series of great Interns going through our site book by book and getting each book under the right category! These interns have both the responsibility and the authority to change as they see fit.

We WERE going to let the evil Program Manager do this; but he has trouble just keeping the right shoe on the right foot. We gave him shower shoes and he marked a big "L" on the flip-flop... for the RIGHT foot!

Dear Jusmee:

Agreed on needing number of pages!! The Interns will be working on that for you and posting them!

Good suggestion on billing info needs to be retained. People do not want to keep doing the same thing iof they are ordering multiple eBooks... which we what them to do!

ALL your comments will be looked at!

The best seller section is fine. The hits stop after 4 or 5 pages.

But when entering a word like "chinese" in title search, it comes up with a large number of hits. Well and good! But when they keep cycling thru the same old previously shown hits, then it gets very tiresome and confusing.

And would it be possible to have PDF and EPUB selections of the same book right after each other instead of maybe half a page or next page down?

Haven't tried purchasing yet, but if credit card address is US centric then that might be a show stopper for international customers. I'll try it soon, I have a US bank issued card but with a foreign billing address.

Is there a Bookaholics anonymous link

Oh boy, the SF section looks great. I have lots of them in Dead Tree, which says that my tastes are very well represented. There are lots of intersting titles still left to buy

I would also suggest adding a wish list, much like Amazon. This is HUGE for me. I"m sure I'm not the only one.

I've noticed that for my favorite books (Star Trek), most of the titles I've looked up so far appear to only be available in PDF format, not in ePub (which is available, among other formats, at other ebookstores). Hopefully this will change soon. Also, many of the titles are as bad as other ebookstores, such as BooksOnBoard--exactly the same titles at both, error for error.

That said, once Star Trek ePubs are more available, I'll definitely be buying them from MyEZRead, as the prices are definitely the best. (What this means, in part, is that S&S isn't one of the evil publishers. to S&S.)
