Wonder if they've changed the HTTP response text.

Known issue. They've been throttling Calibre requests for some time now. Complain to LT.

I know it is a known issue. If I remember correct I was one of the first to report it some time back. Since then, Kovid has changed the User Agent string several times and it used to work.

But this is a different issue. Now, when LT blocks calibre when importing metadata, you can see a pop-up with the description that LT is blocking calibre. You can do 4 or 5 requests to LT before this happens, and after a while, you'll be able to do more requests.

Now, without LT blocking calibre, the series info and index are not being returned. Meaning: calibre is able to connect to LT but is not able to fetch series data. That's why I asked if LT had changed their responseText or responseXML - I don't know which property Kovid is using.

My username : password has been in the plugin since you implemented this feature and it used to work, so this is definitely not it.

The issue is that, even connecting with LT with no problems, series and index fields are not being populated.

Can you do a test and see if the LT request returns series and series index? It may have something with the parsing of the LT response.

I get from LT the right book "Heaven's Prisoners" and the right serie/index: Dave Robicheaux (2)

but downloading the metadata I get all the fields right except series and index, which remain blank.

I'm not going to bother with LT anymore as given all the trouble LT causes it's not worth it. LT blocks calibre after every 3-5 requests, even with a login, which makes testing the plugin a royal pain.

Fair enough. I can understand your frustration. I know you've tried every possible approach - changing the User Agent string, adding username : password to the plugin, etc. But enough is enough. It's simply not worth it wasting your time playing cat and mouse with LT.

Just so you know the next calibre release will havea plugin to download series metadata from the Kent District Library. It probably doesn't have as many books as LT, but better than nothing
