Florida Library with the largest selection
I'm a Miami Dade County Resident, but would travel in order to obtain a library card in outside counties. Can someone please chime in as to the Florida library systems with the largest selection of ebooks?
Thanks in advance to all. |

The mobile read wiki has some information on libraries. I don't know how up-to-date it is on it's current entries, but you might check out the ones listed for Florida.

Many libraries require you to live (or work) in the county. Some do offer non-resident cards for an annual fee.
For example, Orange County has over 100,000 ebooks in Overdrive's English collection plus those in Hoopla, Freading, Axis360 and epulp. Cost is $125 and can be done online. Lee County has about 77,000 titles and the fee is $60/yr but must apply in person. Hillsborough County has over 135,000 titles plus Freading and Hoopla for $100/yr but may need to apply in person. |

Brooklyn Public Library boasts 146,000 titles. $50 per year for out-of-state one year membership.

Be sure to check with your local library for reciprocal borrowing agreements they may have with surrounding counties. In Virginia I can borrow from 11 different counties.

Hillsborough County (Tampa) has a pretty extensive ebook library. But they do require proof of residency.

You could go to the library you're interested in, Search, Advanced. If you want to find out a grand total of the library's offerings including ebooks of all formats, audiobooks, etc. then just click the search button at the bottom.
Or use the Format selection to search for all ebooks, or for all Kindle books, epubs, audiobooks, whatever, to find out how many of those there are. Or if you read mainly books in one genre you could search by subject to find out how many books the library has that would actually interest you. |
