October: 70,000 November: 90,000 Dec: 210,000 January: ? Before the "sold-out sign", it has 8-9 weeks before delivery on the Google Play store. Look like LG can't keep up with the demand for this phone. Even if LG/Google had 1 million to sell, they might not have meet the demand. Last edited by Top100EbooksRank; 01-20-2013 at 03:13 AM. |

I really don't understand this.. Paperwhite still needs "5-7 weeks", Nexus isn't available at all. I feel like living in the Soviet Union.. What are these guys doing with us?

Personally, I don't think they want to keep up with demand. Nexus 4 sales cut into their own overpriced brand sales. Nexus is a major threat to all handset makers. Just wait until Amazon enters this market and watch these guys really panic.

Hypothetical Example: It cost LG $250 to make 16GB Nexus 4. Sell it to Google for $340 (profit of $90 for LG) Sell it to T-Mobile for $340 (profit of $90 for LG) Google sell it for $349. T-Mobile sell it for $499. ----------------------------- so the more phones that LG make, the better for them since they will make $90 profit for each one sold. |

The Kindle Paperwhite is showing as "in stock" and available for delivery tomorrow on both Amazon US and UK. Where do you get your "5-7 weeks" from?

Both, when ordering, said "6 to 9 weeks". The first was here after 2 weeks, the second after 3 weeks. Still not "just-in-time". But way ahead of schedule... Obviously, Amazon and the likes give very conservative estimates and then over-deliver... |

On the main topic, LG needs to get on it. I have the Nexus 4 16GB purchase page as my home page so I can check it daily for new stock. I'm ready to buy, and given my American "immediate gratification" upbringing, I don't like waiting. |

What a tiny number. Too small to make a dent in anything, much less the universe.
No wonder Google is making its own "xPhone." |

Good news is the Nexus 4 is starting to ship more reliably in the US. I placed orders for the 16GB version on Dec 4, 10, and 13. All were listed as a 5-6 week wait when I ordered. I got shipping notifications on all three today and should have them tomorrow. I have to believe they'll start taking new orders soon.

Thanks!
The Paperwhite was released later in Germany than in the UK, I believe. Perhaps it's still in its initial rush of orders there? I remember the order time being several weeks in the UK, too, a couple of months back, but it's in stock for immediate delivery now. Hopefully the same thing will soon happen in Germany. The good news is that when Amazon say that a shipping time is 5 weeks, it generally actually gets delivered much more quickly than that. |

While they might drop the price of the existing ones, it seems unlikely they will add another model later on like they did with the n7, if they added another model a more obvious change would be an lte variant, but they probably wouldn't bother as the nexus phones seem intended to set a decent base level for the following year's android devices.

October: 70,000 November: 90,000 Dec: 210,000 January: 300,000 doable? (at the rate of 10,000 per day) At this rate, they might put the Nexus 4 back for sales in a week time. Their back-order was to around February 3rd. If it goes on sales again on say January 12th, it might be have something like this: Delivery in 3-4 weeks. that's better than Sold Out This has the potential to be the most popular LG smartphone ever.
