is there any plug in that will make calibre play a tune the user can choose when converted

I ticked this because I found the (systems) sound was annoying. (Who wants a bunch of 'Plonk' right in the middle of their tunes"?)

Preferences: Look and Feel: Disable Notifications upon job completion
Then your OS determines WHAT sound for the (general) notification

Disable Notifications in system tray is all i have. Can you not substitute the plonk sound?

configure the notification sound in your system configuration. calibre simply tells the OS to display the default notification.
