Hi,

I would like to give some input on how to make the server GUI more accessible and faster to use.
My most important issue is the view of series or any other metafield.
At the moment I first have to click on the magnifier, then on series, then on a letter and then on the specific series.
Why not create a view of all or selectable metafields (e.g. only display authors, series and languages) to reduce the number of actions?
Also, once I have chosen a series and I want to view an other one, there is no button to go back one level. I have to perform all the steps mentioned above again to view an other series.

For me the server version 3 makes many actions take longer.

Umm the screen you get when you click on the magnifier icon is a view of all metafields. So I dont understand what you are asking for.

Thank you for your response. I took some screenshots to make clear what my request is about.

The first screenshot is the start page. There I can choose to show all series and on the second picture all my series are displayed. When I click on a series I get the concerning books on the third picture. Now I can click on the back button of the browser and return to the second picture.

This is the fastest way I can imagine to navigate to series and back to the overview.

If you want to start at the page with the list of categories (i.e. the page that you get when you click the magnifier icon) simply book mark it. Then it works exactly like before. You click "Series", then you click the individual series name, you get a list of books in the series, then you click the magnifier icon and you will be back to the list of series again (this requires calibre 3.4 which included the feature of remembering where you were last when going to the search page).

Now with version 3 it takes much longer and is less comfortable.

After I have chosen a library I see all my books (first screenshot). If I want to get to my series I have to click on the magnifier, choose the category "series" (second screenshot), then click on the first letter of the series (third screenshot) and then on the specific series I want to browse (fourth screenshot). Now (fifth screenshot) the books are being displayed but I can not return to the screen before. Instead, now I return to the start screen.

So with this version it takes four clicks to see all books of a series (ignoring that you maybe have to select a library before the first step).
And also I cannot use the go-back function of the browser.
This does apply for all categories and not only series of course.

Another thing I find sad to have disappeared are pages. I cannot skip some books during browsing by clicking on the third page when I am on the first one.

Please let me hear what you think about this. Thank you for taking your time.
