Top 10 Science Fiction/Fantasy Books - 2010

at least according to Jeff Vandermeer and Amazon.

I haven't heard of *any* of these authors, but i love Jeff's work and I'll probably be seriously taking a look at his selections.

How do you come up with a "top 10 in 2010" list when 2010 isn't over yet?

No problem.
Didn't they announce the "Car of 2010" during Feb. 2010 ?
That's marketing or whatever you call this one.

Me too.
One of the secret of the universe how they come up with those lists.

Well, that actually works. Because of the weird rules of cars, any new model of car that comes out after the beginning of the year will actually be labeled as the following year's model.

I haven't read a Vandermeer book yet but I really should.

Only heard of one of the books on the list-- The Half-Made World, which I think has been getting good reviews?

My first VanderMeer book was "City of Saints and Madmen". A dense book that took me many weeks to read. Almost gave up a couple of times, but was worth it in the end. Have "Finch" on my TBR pile.

You might try Dradin, In Love, which is the first story in "City of Saints and Madmen".
