EPUB reads ok on Calibre/Adobe but error uploading to Lulu

Hi,

I created a PRC file from Mobipocket Creator and kept the original HTML file.

When I converted the HTML file to EPUB on Calibre, the Epub file opened just fine on the Calibre reader and on the Adobe reader. However, Lulu would not accept the file. Also, the validator at http://www.threepress.org/document/epub-validate/ showed that there were several errors. (Error pasted at bottom of post... just a few, they repeat.)



I tried the same thing when converting from PRC to EPUB with the same results. I would appreciate any help. I can do basic HTML and I have uploaded books onto the Kindle successfully.

First off: Many browser are quite tolerant of malformed code

That error say you have 2 @ <br />
that are not placed properly (must be inside one of the listed tags)
Example

<p>Stuff <br />More stuff</p>

Hi theducks. Thanks so much for the reply. I understand what you mean. I didn't realize that a <br /> tag needed to be inside a <p> tag. I'll check it out and come back. Late here, so I'll take another look tomorrow.
