Kobo Aura 2 N236 SD card image requested
My kobo aura 2 model N236 will not start anymore. Only the power microled will light up. Nothing else. I took out the micro SD card and tried to copy recoveryfs content to rootfs. That gives input/output errors. Could also be that the master boot record got corrupted. I would like to try a new SD card. Could anybody provide me a SD-image for this model? Thanks in advance.

This message is in response to a message that I received as a PM about issues with writing an image.

I downloaded the .zip file from OneDrive and extracted the clara-hd.img file. The SHA-256 hashes for both the .zip file and the extracted clara_hd.img files matched the hashes on my local copies.

The file size for the clara_hd.img file was 7,948,206,080 bytes.

I then wrote the image to a 128GB card using the USB Duplicator Image Writer for the first attempt and BalenaEtcher for the second attempt. Both times the image wrote without issues. Minitool Partition Wizard had no issues with either attempt when I extended the FAT32 partition.

One question that came to mind is if an attempt was made to re-use the original µSD card or if a replacement from a reputable vendor was used? Very often the original µSD card is having issues and should not be re-used.

I've attached some screenshots of USB Duplicator Image Writer.exe after finishing the write process, BalenaEtcher during the verification phase and when finished, MiniTool Partition wizard showing the partition structure before modification and from 7-Zip when I used it to open the clara_hd.img file as an archive.

One note is that Windows thinks .img files are pictures and will not mount them as disk images.
