Book Title on Pocketbook Touch HD2 is wrong
Hello,
I transmitted all my epub´s from Calibre (latest release) to my new Pocketbook Touch HD2 and (almost) all worked fine. There are two books where the book title is not shown correctly on the reader. In calibre "Totenstille im Watt", on the reader "Roman". I checked the metadata in calibre, fields "title" and "title sorting" contain "Totenstille im Watt", "Roman" does not exist anywhere in the metadata. The German "Roman" means in English "novel", so I assume that this quaifier is hidden anywhere and will be interpreted wrong by the reader. The second book which is shown wrong has a main title and a sub title (last one is only visible on the booklet). In the meta data only the main title is existing, on the reader only the sub title will be shown. On my old Tolino both book titles were shown correctly. Calibre settings have not been changed when I connected the new Pocketbook. Has anyone an idea what happens here and what I can change in Calibre and/or Pocketbook to show the titles correctly? Thanks for helping me in advance! Peter |

I have seen nothing like this behaviour.
A couple of thoughts: If you are connecting the reader to Calibre as a device - have a look at the settings in "Sending Books to Devices" and in the specific PocketBook HD plug-in in "Plugins/Device Interface Plugins". If you have a spare SD card - you could try sending the books from Calibre to the SD card, then popping the SD card in to your reader to see how the Pocketbook interprets the title and metadata that way. These are not solutions, but merely suggestions for ways to fathom what is happening. Best of luck |

Thanks for yout thoughts.
Meantime I got another idea and had success: I recognized that the metadata within calibre are held in a separate file. It seems that changes of the metadata will not be stored in the epub but "only" in this meta-file. So I tried to convert the origin epub into the same format epub. Doing that, Calibre copies the origin and creates a new "converted" epub which contains now the changed metadata obvisously because: When I transmit this new epub to the reader the right title will be shown there. It´s keeps foggy for me why the sub title was shown before, because it was not visible in meta data, but you mus´nt understand the whole world... Now afer converting the affected files this way, all titles will be shown correctly. Thanks and by. Peter |
