Overdrive Kindle issue
I just tried to claim an Overdrive hold that came available, and when I go to the Amazon page to borrow the book, there is no link to click to send the book to a device.
Anyone else having this problem? I've tried two different browers on my PC, the OD app on my phone, and the Chrome browser on my phone, too. No go. Last edited by copyrite; 09-19-2018 at 06:59 PM. |

You claimed the book on the library's site, then went to Content and Devices on the Amazon site? Does the book show up there?

I claimed the book on the library's site, was directed to Amazon where there wasn't a link to click on the book to send to Kindle. It's not listed in Manage Your Etc.

When I click on "Read now with Kindle," on the Overdrive/Library side, it immediately takes me to the Amazon.com page for the book, where I can click "Get Library Book." I would try this with one or two other books, even if you don't really want to read them. It they work, you can return them, and report back if it is just a problem with that one book you want to read. Another thing you could try is to give us the book title. I have many Overdrive accounts, mostly because, in my state, state residents can get library cards for almost any county. So I may be able to check for you if I have a problem with that book also. |

One time a few weeks ago, I had it claim a book without giving me an opportunity to select a device (took me straight to ‘thank you’ page or whatever it is), but it was added to my Library so I was just able to download to device. Has not happened since though.
Lately I’ve been using Libby app but I doubt it makes any difference. |

When I check out Any ebooks or Audiobooks from the MD Library I Have to Sign into the Library Before the Order goes thru. I Also have to Sign into Amazon.

I could claim the book from the Amazon link this morning. Whew! The Overdrive / Amazon connection must've been down a bit for me yesterday. Very strange!

By "associated" I mean that Overdrive has an agreement with Amazon for borrowing books in the United States. I didn't mean to imply that Amazon owned any part of Overdrive.

It may be the book is not in kindle format. If you have a tablet try the Libby app. The book should appear in your loans, then click on manage, send to device then send to kindle (if kindle shows)
