APK Install logs
Hello, I was wondering if there are any install logs associated with installing an apk?
I am trying to install a beta app my company is writing for Android and its failing to install on my eDGe. Would I need to root the eDGe to access these logs if they did exist? Thanks |

I've never seen an install log. I'm thinking you'd need root access to read them if they exist.

I think this would be a perfect question to post in the new "Development" forum

Actually probably more appropriate for Android Apps...it's not really a development question.

Since the enTourage is running 1.6 (I think), software outdated by 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and soon 3.0 you will probably encounter many apps that are just too current, using APIs not supported by 1.6.
I recommend installing it using adb install filename.apk and see the output, alternatively you can use the logcat tool to view a lot while its happening or shortly after. You shouldn't need root access to read logcat. |
