Didn't some of the smileys used to be animated??

I could have sworn that they were ... but, even after clearing my cache, my cookies, powering down and coming back online .... all the smileys seem to be frozen.

Like this one that used to do the wave .... now they just stand there looking at me ... all stiff and forlorn.

I've always used Maxthon in the past. I'll try it with another browser ... that is, if I have another browser .... I think I trashed IE because I didn't like it.

Tried with IE .... still all frozen up. I'll have to do a little further investigation. Hmmmmmmm

Maxthon is essentially a shell over the IE Trident rendering engine.

Go to Tools/Maxthon Setup Center, and see if "Disable GIF Animations" is checked.

The animated smileys are GIF animations.

In IE, got to Tools/Internet Options, and check the Advanced tab. Under Multimedia, see if "Play animations in web pages" is checked.

(I believe it's the same underlying IE property as "Play GIF Animations" in Maxthon. Maxthon is a shell on top of IE, and will use IE's configuration.)

Thanks to the Bunny McCunney ... they are once more up and working. I have no idea how the animated gif option could have been turned off at the internet options level .... but it was.

All fixed now. Thanks again.
