Of course, this makes perfect sense as then the Chinese can steal intellectual property with ereaders much more effectively. The Chinese will buy the ereaders, like with MP3 players, but then steal all the content, like with MP3 players.

Exactly the first thing that came to my mind as well. In many places in China and Korea they sell pirate movies, music, and video games on street corners. I find it hard to believe that as a culture they will be buying a lot of ebooks.....

Perhaps, the underground ebook networks in China could be a way to circumvent censorship laws there since u would think that if the chinese censored this content they would also be aware if it were still in copyright....and thus would try to prevent it from being stolen. hahah. just kidding.
