A Kindle PW4 (10th gen) updated to 5.18.1 & still running WinterBreak allows me to copy books to calibre. Usual lower res and B&W cover images.

Did you try my other suggestion? That is what I did with my Oasis and PW and it works for me. (Well, I only get b&w since I don't have a colorsoft, but the import worked.)

Alternately, instead of browsing to the directory, after you connect your Colorsoft, click on the "Device" button in the Calibre toolbar and it should show you the books on the device and then just right click the book and choose add to library?
Does Calibre see the books on the Colorsoft when you are in the device view?

Muscat Manga Edition - that was the code name for the 32GB PW. Muscat was the code name for the - I think - 3rd gen PW. Can't remember for certain, but I could check the DSN to make sure.

Lots of the the mid-teens models had drink code names: muscat, pinot, whisky...

Because some teetotallers complained, there was the EANAB - Equally Attractive Non-Alcoholic Beverage.

If an epub is converted to aw3 in Calibre for transfer to Kindle, is that graphics quality preserved?

With the correct calibre settings, the graphics are not touched.

To set the correct settings, go to Preferences > Common options > Page setup. Then set Output profile to Tablet and Input profile to Default profile. That tells calibre not to make any changes to the graphics. So you get the same size and color if there is any.

I'm a teetotaler (generally) and even I'm not that much of a tightass.

A 2nd or 3rd generation Paperwhite will still give you kfx format though.

Where is the Kobo icon?

Feeling very stupid (not new) at the moment. According to the changelog

Quote:
calibre can now natively edit, view and convert KEPUB format files used by the Kobo. It also automatically converts EPUB to KEPUB when sending books to Kobo devices (can be configured by right clicking the kobo icon in calibre).
But I only have the KoboUtilities plugin in the Toolbar. And I can'T find this option there.

What have I missed?
