Help! Getting Error Messages for Covers
Help!
Calibre was working fine... But now, when I upload books (I've been uploading epubs), I'm getting Error Messages!!! Instead of showing the book cover, I get the Brown Book placeholder --if I then use Edit Metadata... hi-light the book in the upper right-hand corner box, and then click the Brown Book (Set the cover for the book from selected format) the Cover appears in the window (bottom left corner) if I then try to Trim the Cover, or try click OK to close, I keep getting error messages like: Error: Unhandled exception Exception: Wrong jpeg library version: library is 80 caller expects 70 (then a space and a symbol that looks a bit like a quotation mark (") but the first ' is slanted--high on left low on the right-- @ error/jpeg.c/EmitMessage/235 Show details yields: Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\metadata\single.py", line 459, in accept File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\metadata\single.py", line 433, in apply_changes File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\metadata\basic_widgets.py", line 1026, in commit File "site-packages\calibre\library\database2.py", line 1107, in set_cover File "site-packages\calibre\utils\magick\draw.py", line 71, in save_cover_data_to File "site-packages\calibre\utils\magick\draw.py", line 20, in _data_to_image File "site-packages\calibre\utils\magick\__init__.py", line 132, in load Exception: Wrong JPEG library version: library is 80, caller expects 70 `' @ error/jpeg.c/EmitMessage/235 --I get the same mesg/details if I Browse or Paste a Cover Image then try to click OK I get these messages for "duplicate" books that I've already Successfully uploaded to my library (with no problems) previous to today--so the problem is not with the books I'm trying to upload I had this problem a few days ago... and after trying Install Repairs several times I system restored to a point I know worked and it went back to being ok but without thinking I updated to 8.54 today and the same problem showed up problem is I did something to my computer ??? and have lost all restore points prior to today!!! I tried to System Restore to both Installed calibre and Removed calibre points but when I open Calibre it's saying it's version 8.54 (at both restore points)!!! Please help... And Calibre isn't recognizing my reader, either! Gah! I have all (3) of my libraries backed-up--I may try uninstalling Calibre then reinstalling and re-adding my libraries... I have no idea if it'll make a difference Last edited by irishd1988; 06-01-2012 at 10:43 PM. |

uninstall, delete c:\program files\calibre2 and then re-install. And dont worry this wont affect your book or settings.
