Polymer Vision is declared Bankruptcy

Appearently Polymer Vision had declared bankruptcy on the sixth of this month.

I’m afraid it’s also mentioned in the European bankruptcy register, so I’m afraid it’s true. Which is a shame the technology really had some potential. I wasn’t exactly happy with the idea of a phone/e-reader, but a foldable e-reader would have been awesome.

The phone concept always seemed a bad idea, it combines a device which needs a lot of energy, transmitter, etc. with a display that’s main advantage besides legibility is low energy use. And most other phones are moving to a more multimedia devices.

But maybe somebody else will buy the technology and make a true ebook reader.
