Make ADE save ebook title
When an ebook is in the Adobe Digital Editions Library, the ebook link is displayed in the ADE folder in memory instead of the ebook title.
How can the title be displayed like before in the ADE folder instead of the link? Thanks. |

I'm not sure what you mean by "ADE folder in memory" but when I have ADE 4.5 open and look at my library in list or cover view, the title and author are shown. When I look at the physical storage, the epubs show the title as the filename regardless of my selection of view type (Windows). When I send the file to my Kobo, the file shows as the ebook title.epub

I download the ebooks to ADE and they accordingly appear in the ADE Library. However in the ADE folder (in physical storage), the link is shown .epub. In the past, the title was shown.
Any idea how I can make the title show again like it did before? Thanks. |

Nope, on my computer the ebooks in the physical storage (the My Digital Editions directory) show with the book title as the filename and the extension as .epub. Could you post an example of what your filename look like? Is the filename blank?

Kobo has either epub or ACSM downloads.
The epub are DRM free and nothing to do with ADE. The ACSM are small text files to redeem the ebook via Adobe. The ACSM expire in a few hours. They should be used at once and deACSMed for DRM free ebooks because DRM is evil and the Adobe servers might fail, or you might have no internet. |

Thanks for the dialogue.
With the ebooks in Kobo, I select <download> and the ebook is transmitted to ADE to reside in the ADE Library. I don't understand what you are saying or implying. |

I use the browser on Kobo and either a drm free epub file is saved, wherever I choose, or the small ACSM text file (which I rename at download) for redeeming the DRMed epub. I then import the ACSM to Calibre, which is my library system), which fetches the epub. I then save the epub to the place where the acsm file was saved. I then use epub to epub convert to remove any stupid line-height settings. Sometimes I have to edit CSS if the publisher was very stupid. I fix Collection, subtitle, series, blurb, title, author etc as needed in Edit Metadata. Then copy via USB from Calibre to the Kobo. |

The name you are seeing is the name in the file being downloaded from the supplier. Nothing says that file name has to contain the books title or author.

Absolutely. Though often Amazon titles include part of the Blurb. Kobo isn't so bad. That's why I check the metadata (title, author, series etc) of every ebook I get, in Calibre.

Just to agree with PeterT et alia. What you are seeing is the filename of the downloaded file. That filename is the name of the file supplied to Kobo by the publisher/author/whatever.
