I stopped buying ebooks from Amazon in 2021. Downloaded everything and converted to epub, bought a Kobo and never looked back. Using Calibre to manage everything, and I'm quite happy with my somewhat hackable Kobo Clara HD. Put a 32 GB micro sd card in it and I call it my Library of Congress.

That won't happen. Amazon has already said devices with WiFi are going to still be able to download eBooks. So the only Kindles being dumped are the K1, K2, DX, and DXG.

The word “supported” there has me concerned. One interpretation is any device with WiFi. Another is any device still new enough to be receiving firmware updates. Time will tell. |

I'm having a (possibly) different issue with the bulk-downloader. Neither
https://github.com/Jedi425/BulkKindl...wnloader/pulls or https://github.com/thekevincurry/Bul...eUSBDownloader have an Issues tab, which would be a better place to ask, so it's here for now. I was able to successfully run the bulk download the other day, but it was through the Paperwhite 11th Gen device. I'm trying to re-run it with my newly registered Kindle 4th Gen. When I've tried to re-running the bulk-download since yesteryday, regardless of the device I choose, I'm getting an error: Code:
Warning: Failed to download B07VXK7FNS check logs for additional details. 'content-disposition' |

Hello,
New to the e-reader game. I got a Kindle 2024 for Xmas and want to swap to Kobo ecosystem. I have downloaded my 12 or so Kindle ebook files. CAN SOMEONE REMOVE THE DRM FOR ME? Is this possible? Cheers, AHM |

I see too many people here interpreting this incorrectly. What I see it meaning is WiFi Kindles are going to be able to download eBooks and non-WiFi Kindles are out. |

For a lot of most of what they publish you don't want anything BUT the PDF or print replica anyways. Anything with equations is instantly ruined because they do that typical thing of replacing equations with images which don't resize anyways and usually cause the book to take up more space than the PDF. |

Well this whole thread is very interesting. I always backup and liberate all of my books as soon as I buy them. I have since before "Kindle" ever existed. After a lot of internal struggle, I decided to trade page turn buttons for a flush screen and symetrical shape and purchased the Kindle Colorsoft. I am actually very happy with it. My plan was to purchase everything from Amazon and no more sideloading. Then Amazon has to come along and ruin it. Oh well, back to Kobo I go for purchases.

Your interpretation is not the only possible interpretation. In one of our first interactions here on MobileRead you told me that "BPL" could only refer to the Boston Public Library and not the Brooklyn Public Library. |
