Need Help Reviving a Kobo Touch N905A

Hi everyone,

I recently found my dad’s old Kobo Touch N905A. He bought it a long time ago, but I had never used one before. When I turned it on, it powered up and seemed to work, but it was stuck and wouldn’t update.

Since I wasn’t sure what to do, I tried updating it, but that didn’t work. Then, I decided to reset it, thinking that would fix the issue. However, while it was rebooting, I saw a symbol telling me not to turn it off. Unfortunately, I got impatient and powered it off anyway. Now, I think I may have bricked it.

I’ve already tried a regular reset and a hard reset, but nothing seems to work. I also searched through different threads online but couldn’t find a solution that helped.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Sorry but not much that can be done. The N905A does not have removable internal storage so re-imaging is not possible.

First of all, make sure the battery is charged. The best way to check this is with a voltmeter.
If you have BGA soldering skills then I have a dump of the internal memory, I happened to replace the memory chip in such. Nowadays it is rather unprofitable because the value of the reader is very small, it is better to look for a broken 905b or 905c, for example.
