mmm, if each ppl buy in a different website... which would be the way to read the books on a device? fight with each DRM? install apps? or there is a device which works fine with all this?
Maybe Kobo with the sync feature could works with the books of everyone... |

That said, many of us do remove DRM from all our purchased ebooks. Not only for readability; we also want to make our own backups, and some of us like to edit the formatting. |

Right, make backups and be able to get the library ready to be used is nice.
So, instead look on a device which supports everything/everywhere, download them and remove DRM would be easier in order to have a device and share it? I have not checked, but does the "sync" keeps from where are you reading? (syn from calibre, sync from amazon, sync from some place) |

Kobo sync with Calibre-web does actually sync reading positions.

Yeah, I think the web app will only display read or unread, but syncing to a Kobo will track the percent. Granted I don't have a second Kobo atm to test but it seems to. I can delete a book and redownload it and the place is the same which I don't think happens over USB.

Using search can be quicker than sync, even on Kindle to Kindle.

I usually from too much ones, still is nice to know it.
So, seems only Kobo and Pocketbooks is like the only options for share + handle sidebooks, only on my own I can be reading several books, is not easy to me remember where I was in each book, so be able to get the positions is nice for them :3 |
