Unable To Install USBNetwork
I just completed a jailbreak of my PW4 following the WinterBreak instructions at kindlemodding.org with no problems. But now I'm unable to install the USBNetwork that I obtained from the NiLuJe's hacks sticky.
My Kindle SN starts with G000pp12. I've tried restarting and repeating the install process several times. The latest log file is shown below. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thx Code:

You probably need usbnetlite from Marek’s khf page

I'm having trouble installing usbnetlite as well. I was able to install Marek's "Update_usbnetlite_1.0.M_install_khf_11thgenonly.b in" onto my firmware updated 11th gen Paperwhite. But I cannot get "Update_usbnetlite_1.0.M_install_khf.bin" to install on my new PW6. I'm installing via mrpackages but I get an "Application Error" message and underneath a message saying "Done, restarting UI..." I do a manual restart but the usbnetlite extension doesn't install. I believe I have the latest hotfix, kual, etc. installed. Any suggestions?

Most probably your device hasn’t been added yet to the lost of supported devices for usbnetlite

Hi folks, I am having a similar issue with Winterbreak and PW4. I also found Marek's usbnetlite which installed correctly.
The problem is that I can't ssh into my kindle. I am using Mac OS which correctly detects it as a RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget. I set the IP to 192.168.15.102 and Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. Seems like my mac can see the kindle but I get keep connection refused. Any idea what to do? (base) ➜ ~ ssh root@192.168.15.201 ssh: connect to host 192.168.15.201 port 22: Connection refused |

I can't edit my post above for some reason, the solution was to run ssh root@192.168.15.244 instead but keep the original 192.168.15.102 address in my Mac's network dialog.

I was under the impression that 192.168.15.201 would be the host machine IP. In my case, my Kindle PW4 shows up as 192.168.15.244. USBNetLite 1.0.M-r51b188ff is the reported version.

First time posting here, but long time linux user, long time kindle user. I was having similar issues to rebus with a `xzdec: not found` when using usbnetwork on my Kindle Scribe 2022. Using the USBNet-lite at http://fw.notmarek.com/khf/ does work though.
![]() However, I was hoping to get a lot of the extras that come with the regular USBNet, like zsh, screen, ssh, tmux, etc. Is there any way to run the binaries that comes with USBNet after installing USBNet-lite? I tested copying the contents of src/usbnet from NiLuJe's kindle-usbnet-0.22.N-r19297.tar.xz, except those that already existed into my usenet lite install, but no luck there. I'm not afraid to try and compile the things I want, but are there any good resources that show the steps to cross-compile KHF binaries on either a Linux or Mac host, preferably within a docker container rather than on bare metal? |

I don’t know about specific instruction, you can ask Marek:
