Can confirm, it was released with that notice as I believed it would work on all Kindles (from the K5) and all current firmwares (obviously if Amazon patches it I'll edit that)

Further testing revealed some bugs in it, which have now been fixed

Yes I did. But the way It's posted, it's easy to miss. The bit about from K5 should also be in in caps/red so it's ANY KINDLE FROM THE K5.

Use the latest release and try again, if that still doesn't work, send your WinterBreak.log file here

Kindle Scribe - 5.16.10.0.1 with free space of 0.28 GB (296.5 MB) to make sure that it can't download an OTA update on the device.
Software:
* WinterBreak 1.3.0 - https://github.com/KindleModding/Win...erBreak.tar.gz
* Universal Hotfix 1.4.0 - https://github.com/KindleModding/Hot..._universal.bin

Steps

Spoiler:

1. MacOS Finder. Press Command + Shift + Dot to show hidden folders.
2. Extract WinterBreak-1.3.0.tar.gz on Mac
3. Turn on Airplane mode on Kindle Scribe
4. Copy the following from extracted ./WinterBreak folder into the Kindle
- .active_content_sandbox/store/resource/cachedResources/index.html
- apps/**
- jb.sh
- mesquito/**
- patchedUks.sqsh
5. Eject the Kindle from Mac
6. Reboot the Kindle
7. Press the 'Shopping Cart' icon to open the Kindle Store on Kindle Scribe
8. When prompted, click 'Yes' to turn off Airplane mode.
9. On "Mesquito", click on the 'WinterBreak' icon
10. (The image and font were so small, I can't read and I didn't take photo.)
11. Copy Update_hotfix_universal-1.4.0.bin into the Kindle
12. Eject and unplug
13. Kindle, go to Settings > ... > Update your Kindle

After it reboot, I got "Collecting Debug Info" for kfxreader, and it kept coming up. I can't open any books. When it connected to Mac, I saw only dump files and a system folder. Nothing else, no Documents/Fonts folders, and reported available space was around 500 MB.

(I suspect that key file might be corrupted.)

Then I did the factor reset, and then it stuck in boot loop. Can't connect to Mac.

Maybe we should update the Scribes to the last firmware (5.17.2) before jailbreak?. If we connect the wifi in the middle of the jailbreak it could start an OTA update at the same time and mess it up.

The Hotfix shouldn't, nay, doesn't break userstore like that and factory reset CERTAINLY shouldn't bootloop

I'd honestly just ask Amazon for a new one, they're generally pretty good when it comes to replacement devices

Got an Application Error on a stage with installing KUAL+MRPI, Update_KUALBooklet_hotfix_f190a38_install.bin not working too - kindle says it's bad update file.
Universal hotfix installed and Run Hotfix book is run and there's KFT option in settings(dunno what it does), and since search bar is reacting to ;log mrpi it seems I did set up a JB, but package manager don't want to be installed.
Device - PW6, 5.17.1.0.2
