Question Newest Nook Glow 4 system update

Hello everyone my Glow 4 is on platform(firmware?) 8.1.4.88(G). As it is right now I have access to developer options without needing a password and adb is turned on. I turned on wifi yesterday for the first time since I initially registered the device and I got a pop up saying if I wanted to install a new update. I hit skip and turned wifi off again.
Q. 1) Can I keep skipping the update or will it automatically happen one day?
Q. 2) If it does update, will I always need to input the developer password as found by members here if I want access or is a single time good forever?
Q. 3) Is there anything useful in updating to the newest platform version(firnware?)
Q. 4) In the menu you get when rapid press on About, there is a tab called 'disable mass storage'. I clicked that on accident instead of 'allow debugging'. What if anything did I do?

Thank you for reading thru and any answers for me you may have.
