I bought a 2nd hand Glow 3 a week and half ago and last Thursday it showed up. Gleefully opening the package a giant Nook appeared under the bubble wrap. After my momentary confusion wore off I realized I was now the owner of a Glow Plus 2019. The thing is huge physically and the screen feels too big to read on comfortably. I prefer mass market paperbacks to hard covers and my other ereaders are 6inch. Thats what I'm used to. Not the giant roided out Glow Plus I now have.
Contrast that reaction to my other 2nd hand Nook the Glow 4. This one arrived yesterday and once again gleefully opening the bubble wrap here was this tiny surprise. I expected small but I didn't expect it to feel this small. This feels like a toy when I hold it. My Voyage doesn't even look or feel this small. 1st impressions aren't always correct though. I loaded up both with books and got to reading. In bed I like to read like how a sea otter eats shellfish-on the belly. So the Plus surprised me in that in about a chapters worth of reading time I no longer noticed the size both physically of device and of screen. In fact it's now the designated bedtime reader as I like its warm light and buttons more than the Glow 4s. The Glow 4 doesn't get as warm as the Plus but it's still very comfortable to read on at night. The right bezel pair of buttons are louder than the left pair but I hold most things in my left hand anyway so not much of a problem. I cant always lay like a sea otter so when I lay on my side is where the Glow 4s tiny size wins. I can lay on either side at any angle and it's comfortable to read on. My hand doesn't get tired holding onto it. It's been performing double duty quite well and it's nice to have another e reader that I can stash in a pocket. For less than $70 all together I feel I got a great deal in these Nooks. |

I had a 2019 Nook. The hardware was very nice (I prefer 7-8" screens to 6" ones, so the screen was the right size for me), but it was a bit on the heavy side. Otherwise, a great device. Congrats!
(I sold mine because I couldn't stomach the Nook software, but that's another story). |

I still have my original Nook Glowliight from 2013, running like a champ. When my Libra2 died I went back to it; the screen is not as sharp and the lightning is not that even, but at least it's built like a tank.
