Thumbs down Another one bites the dust

Have a 7inch Nook HD and haven't used it for awhile. Plugged into power and, when I checked to see the charge, got the dreaded message "Welcome to your nook"
I know I won't be able to set it up again because you have withdrawn "support", which includes just being able to use the machine.

I have tried to upload a pic but I don't know if that is successful.

Got to go to work but will try and setup later in the vain hope that enough complaints have made nook re-enable the setup procedure.

I seem to recall that Android can be installed?

That is not happening.

You have a few options:
1. Try bypassing registration. See the final post here: https://boards.straightdope.com/t/ho...ation/719324/6
2. Wipe the B&N system and flash a custom ROM. We have two of these devices and run CM13 on them. Then you can install what you want and set it up the way you want. Right now we have them set up with Fotoo as we work on digitizing 45 years worth of photos. But if you want to use as a reader you could install Koreader or similar.
3. Recycle (a shame).

I followed the bypass instructions and, after a few attempts, it worked and I have a working Nook HD again. Thank you very much
