Hello everyone,
I have just finished jailbreaking my Paperwhite 3, currently on firmware 5.12.4. Everything seems to be working. I do however have a minor nitpick: the jailbreak has added KUAL, the hotfix, and the "Kindle feedback" booklets to the main menu, which are quite ugly to look at: Spoiler:
I can hide them selecting Filter > Books, however that adds an (also quite ugly) banner on top of my bookshelf: Spoiler:
If I recall correctly the banner was not there in previous firmwares, so the easiest options would be to downgrade it, however as I understand downgrading wipes the Kindle and every book I have added, which I would rather avoid. Hence my question is the following: is there any homebrew tool that allows me to hide entries from the main menu? |

You're running a rather old firmware version so perhaps it's different, but in my experience those booklets just get "pushed" towards the end of the list as you open some actual books. So if you open a few books from your library and don't use the booklets, they should eventually go to the last page of your library.
In the case of KUAL, there is an extension to give it an icon, so it's not as ugly; you can find it here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=15 |

Thank you @BionicGecko
The tool in your link is just an bash script that queries an SQLite database in /var/local, so after a bit of tinkering I have adapted it to my use case of changing other covers and hiding some items. I have currently hidden the "Kindle Feedback" booklet with sqlite3 cc.db "UPDATE Entries SET p_isVisibleInHome = 0 WHERE p_titles_0_nominal = 'Feedback Kindle'" Do you reckon this might create any issue? I’m not familiar enough with this database to confirm whether this can cause issues or not in the long term, however if you successfully managed to update the db and your kindle boots normally then I think it should be fine
