Jailbroken PW2 Has Mysteriously Large Files Ending in .Core in Storage
I jailbroke my PW2 (on the latest firmware) using these wonderful forums as a guide just a few weeks ago. I mostly did it to try KOReader.
One odd thing I noticed after jailbreaking was a bunch of files that appear as books in the regular Kindle library (meaning not in KOReader) that have strange names and take up a lot of storage. File name examples: cvm_9603_038-juno_120202_pinot_wario-379151.core cvm_11427_038-juno_120202_pinot_wario-379151.core There are two more with very similar names. Each file is around 100MB. So what are these files, can I delete them, and did I do something wrong for them to be appearing as books in the Kindle's library? Thanks in advance! |

I think those are Linux core dump files. You can safely delete these *.core files.
A core dump is a file that gets automatically generated by the kernel after a program crashes. This file contains many information for helping application developers fixing it. |
