I think this behavior is not obvious. I have a very big problem - not enough space for all buttons Would like to add at least two: New File and New Folder.

I can make this, but 2 problems:
1) I don't know how i can create new file in leafpad ))) 2) leafpad save config to " ../settings/leafpad/leafpadrc" from current directory |

I am really really really going to have to refactor that menu system anyway for the lower devices. There is no way to navigate "off the top" of the tree-view using just the 5-way controller.. and even if there was a way... the SELECTED item would always be the top one... What about making a single-click event cause a - JUMP to the top menu... or even better remove the top menu and replace it with a pop-up menu (wrapped in a "GtkScrollView") this would allow for MANY more option/items... and it would work an all devices. this would also preserve the SELECTED ITEM in all cases... Thoughts on that? Last edited by twobob; 02-27-2013 at 02:24 PM. Reason: preserving the SELECTED ITEM |

for the current layout: one-click of FW-center to choose a file/folder and double click of FW-center to open a folder

to keep it simple... I would have OPEN as the top option in all cases... Greyed out if there was no default "opener" (including folders)
I could handle the extra clicks. double click might be "challenging" to comprehend for some. but I see your point... possibly there is an argument for a proper "branch" or even Fork... however it would be nice to detect the Touchscreen capabilities and simply offer that extra "drill-down into folders without pressing open" on those devices. will think about the double click thing... it's a decent idea. Removing top menu on touch devices is very bad idea, becouse it's very useful.
Adding context menu for long tap is good idea Solutions: 1) Make branch, remove menu on non-touch devices (via separated layout) 2) Navigate to menu on click |

Showing menu on every folder opening is not so good. Screen redrawing is slow.
May be Kindle has some menu button? |

agreed.. will index your thing today then if you are happy with it...
List as Touch / Paperwhite for now? or Paperwhite only? (will give your latest 1.5 a workout now - on a touch) Quote:
I'll look at that for the lower stuff as and when and just fork then if you are finished with your end. Cheers |
